Doesn’t every animal have a tongue? Like birds? and even crocodiles. I think that fact is wrong. Do sharks have tongues? since other fishes have tongues? Can you find out?

That is a good question frodolovessam, and in fact, sharks do have tongues. They are called basihyals and it is very different to ours. Instead of being flexible muscle that is mobile, soft and used to manipulate food and swallow, the basihyal is actually small and hard and it is the beginning of the cartilage that support the gills. I’ve added this to the sharks facts. Search for it. There are lots more interesting shark facts there.
